Eta Chapter of Omicron State was organized in 1941, the sixth such chapter in Arizona. It is composed of “key women educators”, those outstanding women who have such a positive impact on the children of the southern portion of
Yavapai county,. While these women are often teachers or administrators in our public and private schools, they also can be librarians, psychologists, paraprofessionals, school nurses, etc., and can be from any level of the education spectrum - from pre-school to adult education. We are always seeking prospective members of the community who are among these “key women educators” in order to offer them the honorary distinction of membership. If you are or know, one of these women, please contact us through the contact tab on this web site.
Our chapter meets every month during the school year, holding fun and informative meetings that meet the networking needs of our membership. Sometimes we work on philanthropy projects, honor outstanding area students in the area of the arts, meet with local educational leaders and/or state legislators in active discourse, attend workshops and conventions and usually, whatever we are doing, we have fun.
Through Delta Kappa Gamma International, we are able to assist teachers in other parts of the world, to support an active scholarship program, write articles for the national journal, purchase excellent health insurance as well
as other types, and are eligible for a variety of grants and scholarships to further our own professional educations.
Delta Kappa Gamma is a world-wide organization made up of over 110,000 members in sixteen countries. This summer, the world convention is being held in New York City. This is just one more attribute of being in an outstanding organization!
